From all I know there is not surgery to remove cancer from around the heart. He may do chemo and radiation, which could slow the growth of the tumors and prevent new tumors. When cancer is at Stage IV meaning it has spread to other organs, it is considered incurable and terminal. People of course have gone into remission and have lived a long time with Stage IV cancer, but really depends on how agressive the cancer is and how widespread the disease is.
